Ready for Winter | Camel Jacket & Kelly Green
Happy Friday! How's the weather where you are? Minneapolis has certainly been cooling down for the past couple weeks. I've been working in Columbus, and the weather there is mildly better. Either way, I'm feeling pretty prepared with my wool cocoon coat from J.Crew. I purchased this last year and barely used it, as I was living most of the winter in Charlotte where it got to freezing like twice all winter, so I’m kind of excited to bring it out this year!
This classic style of jacket J.Crew brings back every year with minor variation in a bunch of different colors (they also have a version similar at J.Crew Factory). It's a super nice thick wool with gold hardware that will keep you warm without being too bulky. I've never been one for puffer coats, even during the winters in Ithaca, NY for college! Wool forever <3
I do love to wear a neutral jacket (whether it be camel like this one or black or grey) with a bright scarf. I'm wearing a simple pashmina in BRIGHT purple that I just re-discovered in my closet and have since been wearing it constantly :). I've paired it with a kelly green top. This top is a super silky fabric that travels really well, and has some fun bell sleeve details. It also comes in white and is a great staple for work wear or casual. I wear it with jeans as well!
I've finished this outfit with simple black slacks, a classic nude pump with a pointed black toe (and gold details to accent the jacket hardware), as well as some delicate drop earrings in gold. I also re-discovered these earrings and have been wearing them a lot. A little sparkle by the face can go a long way!
