That Cape Life | Red Cape and Stripes for Winter Parties
Hellllo! Happy Holidays! Christmas is over, and now we are getting ready for NEW YEARS! Tucker and I are planning to have a more low key New Years with one my best friends in St. Paul... our new neighborhood! In unrelated (but very exciting news)... we found our house!! Literally, on Christmas Eve while we were at church the seller accepted our offer. This week is filled with paperwork, loan applications, the inspection, a whole lot of dreaming... we move in February and CAN'T WAIT. I'll be getting tons of inspo for my new house on Pinterest until then...
This outfit today is super fun! My work's holiday party is very casual... I wish I could wear something cute like to it. Totally work appropriate, or great for any kind of holiday gathering in the next couple weeks. I've noticed a lot of work parties aren't even happening until mid-to-late-January. Honestly, you could also totally wear this outfit to work if you're glam enough. Not sure if I could pull that off, but I guess it's just a mindset, right?!
This ADORABLE red cape I got a few years at a local department store on super sale. I bought it in like July or something - one of those finds where there is one on the rack and it happens to be your size. Amazing. I wish I had more occasions to wear it to! Such a fun shape, and the belt really add a waist back into the picture ;)
Underneath, I'm wearing my classic striped turtleneck and navy blue dress pants. I wanted to add a little pattern, but keep the focus on the red jacket. And, of course, I paired this with my favorite navy pumps. Do you have a pair of navy shoes yet? If not, keep your eyes out for a pair - they are a lifesaver! It's hard to find (not ugly) navy shoes, so when I see them I get them, haha. I know there are some on sale in the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale right now!!
Finally, I accented the red jacket with a glossy red lip and oversized pearl earrings. I like the simplicity of this overall outfit with a little bit of color and pattern. See ya after the New Year!!
