Winter Wonderland | Keeping Warm through Minnesota's Winters
It is a WINTER WONDERLAND here in MN this week! We had a HUGE snow storm this weekend, it snowed pretty much all night Saturday and all day Sunday - couldn't resist some pictures in the fresh, beautiful snow.
I am so thankful for the wonderful long weekend this week due to the MLK holiday - I really needed this extra day off! My boyfriend and I got a lot done this weekend, and had a lot of fun too. We toured FIVE more houses on Saturday, did a second showing on Sunday on one of those... ended up passing... and then toured a SIXTH house on Monday! We're starting to get V frustrated with the inventory on the market right now, but we can't really do anything about it. We're starting to look further out into the suburbs now to find what we want at the right price, which is sad, but hopefully we find the right fit. Just found out our lease will go up almost a 1/3 to extend month-to-month, so I really hope we don't have to resort to that...!
We decided that we were over attempting indoor photos in our apartment, so we bundled up and went outside for these! I really love the snow, especially when it's not like -10 degrees out, haha. I bought these new snow boots from Tommy Hilfiger with an old gift card I had, and I'm super satisfied with them. They're not super tall (so they're easy to pull on and off), they have a little bit of a quilted detail which is cute, and they're very effective! Warm and dry feet are critical. Wish I had these when I was trudging through Ithaca, NY in college, instead of just rain boots.
I also bought a new pair of jeans with some Christmas money from LOFT - my go to for jeans. I struggle to find jeans that fit me anywhere else! Their "curvy" fit (as I've mentioned before haha) is perfect for my body. I always keep my eye on the sales rack for my size in this style, and got these for $39.50! To keep extra warm, I'm wearing my classic J.Crew cocoon coat, the one that everyone and their mom has; but it IS super warm and cute, so I'm all about it. I've added my classic cold weather accessories to finish it off. A giant blanket scarf, which is half about warmth and half about style. This cute knit hat I actually bought on vacation in Alaska (thank goodness - definitely needed haha), and these super soft mittens I stole from my boyfriend...! Keep warm out there, and beware of snowballs ;)
