Military Jacket & Jeans
Don't you just love a good jacket? A blazer can step up any outfit - taking it from casual to fab. Exactly what I needed with this terrible snow storm! We got hit HARD yesterday in the Minneapolis metro with like a foot snow - oof. Time to hide inside :)
Unfortunately (well, really, fortunately), I don't get to hide inside today... because Tucker & I have our home inspection this afternoon! YES - we found another house we LOVE. Well, I love most of it. It's a great investment - good neighborhood, basically new roof and major appliances, possibility to improve the inside, but definitely move-in ready.... but, I'm being honest here, it's not the most beautiful. Everything is super clean and well maintained, but it definitely needs some life in there. Is anyone interested in some home decor/DIY posts? Leave a comment if you are, we are definitely going to have some projects in the next couple months!
I found this adorable jacket at LOFT during some after-Christmas shopping. They didn't have my size in store, so I ordered it in store! I actually did the same thing with these jeans... I found the size I wanted in a certain style, but wanted a darker wash - Bless you, LOFT, for free shipping in-store. Lifesaver. I've worn this jacket a couple times so far and I really like the weight of it - it's a really thick fabric that is warm, but definitely still an indoor jacket. It also is less "structured" than a suit blazer, so it's great for packing because it doesn't get so wrinkled! Travel friendly jackets are hard to find - pick this one up while it's on sale...!
I paired it with a green top, which acts as a nice pop of color. I love kelly green and navy, they almost act as a neutral together. I could see myself wearing hot pink earrings or shoes, or maybe a loud pattern with this combo for extra oomph. I'm wearing my new dark wash jeans from LOFT, which I'm happy to add to my rotation. I was previously living on two pairs of jeans, so this third pair is necessary. I don't wear jeans so often (usually I'm into leggings or PJs after work anyway, right?), but during times like the holidays, I certainly needed another pair! LOFT's denim is great quality and at a great price point, it's hard to resist.
I also received this linked necklace as a gift for Christmas (thanks mom!) that will definitely have a healthy rotation in my wardrobe. It's a tortoise colored plastic that goes with basically anything. I've been eyeing it for a while, so I'm glad to finally get to style it! This is really easy to pack as it doesn't really get tangled with other stuff, and certainly goes with more outfits than a blinged out statement necklace. I can see this being great for a more formal or conservation work environment as well; I suggest picking it up!
