White Denim for Work
It's been a little bit, but I've definitely needed the break. My life has been CRAZY. From the house to travelling for work all while trying to keep a social schedule and stay sane… I'm a little overwhelmed TBH. I started a new project this week in Springfield, IL that has a really great team, and I'll be here for the next couple months so a little bit of regularity is nice. I'm hoping to get back to one or two posts a week, so stay tuned for that.
This new project (and the short term one I was just on) has a casual dress code which is totally throwing me for a loop. Jeans and open toed shoes are OK… so that's weird. To keep this blog true to "what I'm wearing now" expect to see more of this casual "work wear" style for a while. Think snappy casual. Obviously, I still want to look professional and feel confident, but I don't need to wear dress pants every day - and amen to that.
Summer is coming and I am SO EXCITED! I just finished moving into my new closet and started pulling out my summer clothes. Enter: white denim. I've never been able to wear white denim to work, but now with my relaxed dress code, this seemed like a nice opportunity to try it out! I went a little bit more formal on top in order to counterbalance the casual denim.
I like the bright white contrast of the jeans with a navy blazer. The blazer and peplum top really pop against it, and it really brings the eye upward, while bringing in a nice summery tone. This outfit really just makes me smile haha. Coral and navy are a classic combination, and I love an orange-y lip to tie it together. What colors do you pull out for summer?
